Are you a teacher who wants to earn supplemental income by working with K-8th grade students? Do you want to help students improve their Language Arts or Math skills, while being a positive role model? Are you available during after school hours?

A+ Grades Up is an approved Supplemental Education Services (SES) provider. We are currently hiring certified teachers to tutor small groups (4-5 students at a time) in our afterschool tutoring program. Teachers/Tutors will be assigned to a school site and will tutor during afterschool hours in select Moreno Valley USD elementary and middle schools (Non-certified teachers will be considered, but must have a substitute teaching permit/certificate or significant experience tutoring students). If you have a preference for subject/grade levels, we will do our best to accommodate to your preferences.

A+ Grades Up uses a nationally normed test to pre-assess students before beginning our program. We develop individualized goals and lesson plans for each student by breaking down their pre-assessment scores. This means that teachers don't have to develop lesson plans for students, A+ Grades Up collaborates with district and school staff to DEVELOP THEM FOR YOU! Additionally, A+ Grades Up provides all instructional materials for teachers.

Teachers/Tutors will receive paid training which will focus on learning how to use our management information system (online program), learning about our research-based curriculum, and learning about our company's procedures.

Teachers/Tutors generally run 2 or 4 sessions per week, 1-1.5 hours per session. Availability from 2-4pm, 2:15-4:15pm, 3-5pm, 3:15-5:15 or 3:30-5:30 is required on Monday & Wednesday and/or Tuesday & Thursday.

Qualifications:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) - A plus, but not required
Current Teaching Credential/Certificate (for Certified Teacher Rate)
Current Substitute Teaching Permit/Certificate or currently working towards a teaching credential (for Non Certified Rate)
Pass a background check
Able to tutor K-8 students in Reading/Language Arts or Math
A Desire to help Students Succeed
Transportation to the school site
Strong classroom management skills
Afterschool availability
Ability to meet paperwork deadlines and guidelines
